Rob Edwards Urges Wolves Vs Fulham Response To Escape 19th Place
Wolves vs Fulham arrives with 19th place still in play, and Rob Edwards wants his players to attack the last two league matches rather than drift into the end of the season. Wolves host Fulham on Sunday at Molineux, where several first-team players could be making one of their final appearances in the Premier League.
Edwards At Molineux
Edwards framed the game as a test of effort as much as result. “We don’t want to finish bottom of the league,” he said, pushing Wolves to make the most of their final home match in the top flight.
He added that the match could be the final outing at Molineux for several first-team players. That gives Sunday a different edge for a side that has already been relegated and is now preparing for a Championship campaign in 2025/26.
Wolves Fitness Boost
The squad picture looks stronger than the table position. “Sa trained fully today, Krejci trained fully today as well, so we’re pretty much at full tilt,” Edwards said.
Hugo Bueno also trained fully after his first session of the week. “Hugo [Bueno] trained today as well, it was the first time he’s trained this week, but he trained the full session,” Edwards said.
That leaves Wolves with a pretty much clean bill of health apart from one or two knocks, which matters because Edwards has only two league matches left to sort out the ending. The club’s eight-year run in the Premier League is almost over, and the final stretch is now about squeezing out one better finish before the step down.
Shi Takes The Chair
Nathan Shi has become permanent chairman while the club prepares for next season’s Championship campaign. For the players, the immediate task is simpler: use Sunday and the final two matches to avoid finishing bottom and leave Molineux with something better than last place.
