Tom Warren Says Xbox Cloud Gaming Fits Elite Series 3 Leak
The leaked Xbox Elite Series 3 controller adds a cloud button for xbox cloud gaming and two new front controls. Photos from Brazil's Anatel show a premium pad that could switch between local and cloud modes. That points to a controller built for players who want lower-latency cloud play without giving up Elite-style hardware.
Anatel Shows the Elite Series 3
The photos surfaced from Brazil's telecommunications regulator through Tecnoblog. They show swappable d-pads, lockable triggers, removable rear paddles, rubberised grips, and a matte black colour scheme. Those are familiar Elite traits, but the leak places them on a controller that appears seven years after the last Xbox Elite controller was released.
The new part is the pair of buttons below the d-pad and right stick. They look like mouse-style scroll wheels. They could add extra inputs or change controller settings.
Cloud Button And Battery Swap
The cloud button is the sharper signal for xbox cloud gaming. Pressing the buttons swaps between local and cloud modes. The design points to direct Wi-Fi connection to cut down latency when using Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Microsoft is also moving to a removable and rechargeable battery pack for the Series 3. That change allows rapid battery swaps without AA batteries. The pack is listed at 1528mAh, below the prior Elite controller's 2050mAh figure.
June 7 Xbox Showcase
Tom Warren said it seems logical to assume the new controllers will be announced at the upcoming Xbox showcase on the 7th of June. Will wrote, "Looks good on paper, but bad timing imo with Helix presumably not that far off, and most expecting Helix controller to have more features in line with PS5 / Switch 2 / Steam Deck i.e Gyro, Proper Haptics etc. I'd wait." The leak gives Xbox Cloud Gaming users a first look at a controller feature set that moves beyond standard button mapping, but the battery downgrade and the absence of an official announcement still leave buyers waiting for the final spec sheet.
