Allwyn launches 500 Scratch-coins for 10 retailers — Lottery Uk
Allwyn launched a limited-edition lottery uk Scratch-Coin on 22 May to mark 30 years of National Lottery Scratchcards. Ten specially selected retail partners across the UK will each receive 500 coins, with the giveaway starting on Saturday, 23 May and running while stocks last.
Allwyn and Hattie Stewart
The coin was created with artist and illustrator Hattie Stewart, and Allwyn said the promotion is meant to support retailers that have served their communities for years. Karl Southworth, Allwyn’s head of field sales, said: “As we celebrate 30 years of National Lottery Scratchcards, we wanted to create a fun, engaging moment that not only rewards our standout retail partners but also helps generate excitement and drive footfall.”
Southworth also said: “These ‘Scratch-coins’ are a brilliant way to recognise a small group of our ‘gold standard’ retailers, who consistently go above and beyond in bringing The National Lottery to life in their local communities.”
National Lottery Scratchcard purchases
Customers can receive one of the coins with any National Lottery Scratchcard purchase at the selected retailers from Saturday, 23 May, while stocks last. The promotion includes the £300,000 Birthday Scratchcard, which costs £2 and carries an overall 1 in 3.33 chance of winning a prize, with a top prize of £300,000.
Stewart said: “Scratching is such a satisfying ritual.” She added: “It’s about anticipation, excitement and that little moment of hope.” She said: “I love that even now, people get creative with it when they don’t have a coin to hand, using keys, cards, rings, even their fingernails, but nothing quite beats doing it properly.”
Allwyn Retail Partners
Allwyn said the 10 retailers were selected for their long-standing partnership with The National Lottery and their commitment to local communities. Southworth added: “That being said, we’re incredibly proud of our entire retail network — every one of our 43,500 partners plays a vital role in helping raise £33m for National Lottery-funded projects every week.”
For customers, the immediate takeaway is simple: the Scratch-Coin giveaway is limited to a small group of stores, and the coins are available only with qualifying Scratchcard purchases while supplies remain.
