Crimson Desert Patch 1.08.00 Adds Tool Slot and 20 Species — Crimson Desert Update

Crimson Desert update Patch 1.08.00 went live ahead of the weekend and added a tool equipment slot that players had asked for repeatedly. Before this patch, tools could only be equipped as secondary weapons. The update also added raytraced sun and moon light shadows.

Patch 1.08.00 Changes

Francesco De Meo reported that the tool slot was one of the most requested community features. The patch lets Kliff equip muskets and shotguns, adds a Focused Aerial Roll equivalent for Damiane and Oongka, and introduces blueprints to craft superior branches using special tree branches.

The update also added a Pond to both Greymanes camps, Howling Hill and Pailune. After a certain quest, players can drop caught fishes into the Pond, and more fish of the same species increases their number there. Patch 1.08.00 also introduced 20 new species of small animals.

Crimson Desert Graphics Settings

Raytraced sun and moon light shadows can be switched on and off in the Graphics settings. The patch also improved GPU load in high-resolution environments above 4K resolution, along with object placement and visual glitches including vegetation flickers.

Baby wyverns can now be registered as pets, and players can ride a wyvern as a temporary mount after subduing it. Those baby wyverns will grow into mounts in a future update. For players jumping back in now, the most immediate change is practical: the tools they used to carry as secondary weapons now have their own slot, while supported hardware gets the new shadow option in the graphics menu.
