Geelong made a late change for its round 11 clash against Sydney at GMHBA Stadium, with Tanner Bruhn replaced by Jake Kolodjashnij in the Cats’ 23. The move left Chris Scott’s side unchanged otherwise for a game that began at 4.15pm AEST against a Sydney team that came in at 9-1.

Bruhn was managed out, while Kolodjashnij came in for the Cats as they kept their shape for the meeting with the ladder leaders. Geelong started the match 7-3, and the late swap was the only adjustment to Scott’s selected side.

Sydney made two changes of its own. Caiden Cleary and Tom Hanily returned for Harry Cunningham and Billy Cootee, giving the visitors a different look as they prepared for a contest that came after they had beaten Collingwood.

Sydney’s line-up moves

The Swans’ changes came against a Geelong side that had also arrived with momentum after beating Brisbane on the reigning premiers’ home turf. That set up a round 11 match at GMHBA Stadium with both sides entering on strong records, but with Sydney holding the stronger mark at 9-1.

Geelong’s change was the main selection note for its own team sheet, but it sat alongside a broader round of line-up movement across the league. Collingwood, which played Waalitj Marawar at the MCG at 4.35pm AEST, brought back Scott Pendlebury for his record-breaking 433rd AFL match, while Darcy Moore, Pat Lipinski and Darcy Cameron also returned. Oscar Steene had suffered an ACL injury last week, and Jack Buller, Wil Parker and Angus Anderson were omitted.

Waalitj Marawar also made one change, with Bo Allan coming in for Jack Hutchinson, who was omitted because of a hamstring injury. The result was a busy selection night across the fixture, but the direct impact in Geelong’s game was simple: Bruhn was out, Kolodjashnij was in, and the Cats went into the contest with one late adjustment against Sydney’s 9-1 start.
