Hollie Doyle sidelined after Bath fall in 5½f handicap
Hollie Doyle is facing time out after a fall at Bath on Friday evening, and her own message on Saturday made the layoff clear. She said she will be on the sidelines for a while after sustaining an injury at Bath yesterday.
The Bath incident came after Doyle had already ridden Flight Signal to victory for Wathnan Racing and Archie Watson earlier on the card. Later, she was aboard Vault Of Heaven for Kevin Frost in the 5½f handicap when the four-year-old appeared to sustain a serious injury.
Bath card for Doyle
That sequence turned a productive evening into a stoppage point. Doyle had been in the saddle for a winner before the fall, then came off in the race involving Vault Of Heaven.
Her Saturday note carried the only direct update from the rider herself: "Thank you for all the messages, unfortunately I will be on the sidelines for a while after sustaining an injury at Bath yesterday. Thoughts are with connections. I'll be back!"
Frost and Watson rides
The Bath meeting also showed how quickly one rider’s schedule can stack up. Doyle had partnered Flight Signal to victory earlier for Wathnan Racing and Archie Watson, then switched to Vault Of Heaven later on the card.
She had already built a strong season before the fall, with 53 winners this year. Doyle also rode Your Song for Robson Aguiar at Naas last Sunday, and she had a planned full book of rides at Salisbury on Saturday evening before the injury altered her immediate plans.
Riding schedule on hold
For now, the practical change is simple: Doyle is off the track for an unspecified spell, and the rides lined up around her will have to be covered elsewhere. Vault Of Heaven’s team, along with the other connections tied to her booked mounts, are left waiting for the next update from a rider who has already said she will be back.
