Danny Dyer’s One Last Deal lands on Sky Cinema and NOW
Danny Dyer’s one last deal has landed on streaming today through Sky Cinema and NOW Cinema, putting the former EastEnders star’s latest film in front of UK viewers at home. The one-man thriller is now available through Sky Cinema, and on NOW with the Cinema subscription, after arriving as a new streaming option for the UK market.
That matters because One Last Deal is not currently listed for digital purchase or rental, so streaming is the only immediate route in. Dyer plays football manager Jimmy Banks, a man willing to do anything to secure a major deal for his client, and he is the only person seen on screen; the other characters appear only through voices on the phone.
Danny Dyer in one room
One Last Deal is set solely in an office, which gives the film a stripped-back frame instead of the usual run of locations and supporting cast. The setup puts all of the pressure on Dyer as Jimmy Banks, and on Peter Howlett’s script, because the film has to carry its momentum through dialogue rather than movement.
The critic response has been split, but it has not been silent. Film Ireland Magazine called it an “impressive screenwriting debut for Peter Howlett,” praised the “razor sharp” dialogue, and described the themes as “unfortunately quite timely.” The Daily Express said the story “will keep you hooked” even if you don’t like football.
Rotten Tomatoes reviews
Nine critic reviews are collected on Rotten Tomatoes so far, and eight are positive, yet the film still does not have a Tomatometer score. That leaves the title in a narrow critical window: enough favorable coverage to point to interest, but not enough volume for the site’s headline score to land.
Mark Kermode was less generous, calling the film “overwrought” and saying it felt longer than its 88 minutes, even while commending the production and set design. For a compact one-room film, that split is the real test of the release: the concept is lean, but the execution has already divided reviewers.
Sky Cinema and NOW
For UK viewers, the practical choice is straightforward: stream it on Sky Cinema, or on NOW with the Cinema subscription. At the time of writing, the film does not appear to be available to buy or rent digitally, and Amazon only has a DVD/Blu-ray product page up with a placeholder release date.
Dyer is also busy elsewhere, with Rivals dropping new episodes on Fridays on Disney+ and Nobody’s Fool premiering tonight at 9pm on ITV1, where he appears alongside co-host Emily Atack. If you want the new film now, streaming is the route; if you want to wait for a purchase option, the current release setup does not offer one.
