Dembele, Hakimi Miss Paris Saint-germain F.c. Friendly Before Final
Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi missed paris saint-germain f.c.'s in-house friendly on Saturday, leaving the club without two regulars less than a week before the Champions League final against Arsenal. Dembele said he expects to be ready, but Hakimi's absence carried more weight after he also sat out the semi-final second leg and PSG's final four Ligue 1 matches.
Dembele's fitness note
Dembele had been substituted during the first half of PSG's Ligue 1 finale against Paris FC last weekend, which made his status a point of focus heading into the final. Earlier this week, he said, "I’m doing very well. I had a slight scare against Paris FC, but I’m fine and I’ll be ready for the final."
He added, "Will I be 100 per cent for the final? Yes, I think so. Yes, I’ll be ready. I have no doubt about it. I hope to be on the pitch on May 30th." That was the clearest sign from PSG's forward that his exit against Paris FC was precautionary rather than a longer setback.
Hakimi's separate path
Hakimi did not join the in-house game, which was played over two 20-minute halves with strict instructions for no contact. He took part in an individual training session instead, after already missing the second leg of PSG's Champions League semi-final win over Bayern Munich.
He was also absent from PSG's final four Ligue 1 matches, and it was deemed unlikely that he would recover in time to feature against Arsenal in Budapest. At best, he would start on the bench. If he cannot go, Warren Zaïre-Emery could be forced into a right-back role.
Budapest on PSG's calendar
PSG finished their Ligue 1 season last weekend, giving them an extra week to manage fitness before next Saturday's final. The timing leaves the club with a short runway and one clear priority: get Dembele through the final stretch and decide whether Hakimi can contribute at all, even in a limited role.
For PSG, the friendly was less about the score than the absences. Dembele's upbeat message gives them one attacking option to lean on, while Hakimi's situation pushes the defensive decision toward a possible emergency switch at right-back.
