Ferrari Luce tops 193 mph as Vigna unveils first EV
Ferrari was set Monday to unveil the ferrari luce, its first fully electric vehicle, as chief executive Benedetto Vigna bets the company can make an EV feel like a Ferrari. The four-door model is priced at more than $586,000 and tops out at 193 mph.

The company intended the Luce for global sale, but it had no release date for the US. Ferrari opened a new “e-building” facility at its headquarters in Maranello, Italy, as it expanded into electrification.
Spy shots posted to social media showed camouflaged Luce test vehicles road testing near Maranello in recent weeks. A widely shared Instagram post from a “supercars” account described the car as Ferrari’s “final prototype” and claimed it would produce 1,000 horsepower and go from 0-100 kilometers per hour in 2.5 seconds, but Ferrari has not publicly confirmed those specifications.
Ferrari and Lamborghini
The launch comes as luxury automakers question whether wealthy buyers want electric supercars. Ferrari quietly delayed plans for a second EV model until at least 2028, while Italian rival Lamborghini abandoned a project to roll out a fully electric model in 2030.
reported that the Luce was developed with input from Jony Ive’s LoveFrom studio. also reported that Ferrari engineers developed a custom sound system designed to amplify vibrations from the powertrain, a response to how much Ferrari’s identity has long rested on speed, design and sound.
The unveiling gives Ferrari its first production EV and a clear test of whether its formula can carry into electric performance cars without a US release date yet attached to the model.
