The app complaints mattered because they hit the last step of the order flow. Users trying to finish shopping cart checkouts were the ones most often stuck.
DownDetector flags 6,000 reports
DownDetector showed around 6,000 users reporting issues with DoorDash on Sunday afternoon. The tracker also said 38% of users saw the app as not working and 17% ran into ordering problems.
That split suggests the trouble was not limited to one screen. It reached both the ordering process and the app itself, which is exactly where a customer needs the service to hold together.
Checkout errors hit users
Users described “something went wrong” messages and later “unexpected error try again” prompts while trying to access delivery services. One user said, “We keep trying to put an order through and we keep getting an error message. Tried it on two different phones.”
Others posted on X about money, food, and whether the app would work at all. The complaints showed the outage was not just a visual glitch, because people were trying to complete orders and were getting blocked at the point of payment or submission.
DoorDash Help X stayed quiet
DoorDash had not issued an official update at the time of the report, and the DoorDash Help X account was not sending replies. DoorDash has approximately 56 million monthly active users, and close to 60% are based in the United States.
For affected users, the practical move is simple: keep the order attempt short and avoid assuming a failed checkout went through if the app throws an error screen. The unresolved issue is what caused the DoorDash outage and when service will fully recover.
