Rekha orders one-week repairs at Rohini sub-registrar offices

rekha Gupta carried out a surprise inspection of the Revenue Department’s E-Sub-Registrar offices VI-A and VI-C in Rohini on Friday and ordered repairs and improvements within one week. She found broken flooring, poor lighting, non-functional air-conditioners, unhygienic toilets, inadequate seating and disorganised record management at the offices operating from Ambedkar Bhawan in Rohini Sector-16.

Citizens present during the visit complained about long waiting hours, lack of seating, poor ventilation and no proper token system. Gupta told officials that the offices serve property registration and documentation work and that citizens should not face inconvenience when they visit for official work.

Gupta's Rohini inspection

The chief minister said, “Providing basic amenities in offices is the government’s responsibility. Such disarray will not be tolerated under any circumstances.” She also said, “It is unacceptable that elderly citizens, women and others visiting the office for official work should be made to stand for hours,” and added, “If lights are not working, toilets are unusable, floors are damaged and even basic seating arrangements are unavailable, it raises serious questions about administrative responsibility,”.

Gupta inspected the record room as part of the visit and directed officials to prioritise digitisation, preservation and security of important revenue records. She also ordered authorities to fix responsibility for regular maintenance of the premises and appoint dedicated officers or caretakers to monitor cleanliness and civic upkeep.

Revenue records and upkeep

Gupta warned of strict action in cases of corruption, negligence or unnecessary delays in public service delivery. She said, “No citizen should have to run from office to office or face harassment for getting legitimate work done.”

She sought a detailed compliance report within one week and said she would personally conduct a follow-up inspection. For people visiting the offices for property registration and documentation, the immediate change is a deadline: repairs, upkeep and service fixes are now due within seven days, and the next review will test whether the work has been done.
