Marcos Senesi Set for Four-Year Move in Spurs Transfer News
Spurs transfer news moved quickly this summer. Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi on a four-year deal when his contract expires. The move gives Spurs a senior centre-back option as they prepare for a season without Europe and manage a back line that could still change.
Senesi’s Bournemouth Record
Senesi has been a steady part of Bournemouth’s defense since joining in 2022. He made 128 appearances for the club, scored six goals and added ten assists, while playing in all but one of Bournemouth’s Premier League games this season.
Bournemouth’s form carried them into the Europa League for the first time in their history, and Senesi’s final months there came with his contract running down. He is expected to complete the move to north London this summer.
Tottenham’s Summer Reset
Tottenham’s season ended with a 1-0 win over Everton on the final day, a result that kept them up and left them 18th, two points above West Ham United. That survival eased the pressure on a summer in which they must rebuild without European matches on the schedule.
Peter Charrington said the club would build a squad “with the right blend of experience, youth and leadership.” He also said, “we will invest across multiple transfer windows to rebuild, balance and strengthen, with this summer representing an important first step in that work.”
Romero, Robertson and Five Centre-Backs
Senesi’s arrival would leave Tottenham with five senior centre-backs. That group could still shift if a departure follows, with captain Cristian Romero among the players whose future may be affected by the change.
Spurs are also in pole position to add Andy Robertson when his Liverpool contract expires this summer. For Tottenham, the Senesi deal is the first clear move in a window built around depth, balance and a quicker start than last year.
