Kai Huckenbeck Wins Glasgow Fim Sgp Challenge Qualifiers With 15-Point Maximum
Kai Huckenbeck won the fim sgp challenge qualifiers in Glasgow on Saturday with a 15-point maximum, booking his place in the 2026 FIM SGP Challenge. The German international rider reeled off five straight wins to leave the meeting with the cleanest possible scoreline.
Huckenbeck’s Glasgow Maximum
Huckenbeck finished on 15 points after five straight races in Scotland, a perfect haul that separated him from the field and sent him through to the next stage. Jack Holder was next best on 12 points after beating Anders Rowe in a run-off, while Rowe also advanced to Terenzano.
That Glasgow result was not just about one rider at the top. Frederik Jakobsen and Chris Harris each scored 11 points and beat Maciej Janowski in a run-off for the final qualification places, leaving Janowski outside the advancing group despite his own strong showing.
Jack Holder And Rowe
Holder’s 12-point return put him second and kept his route to Terenzano alive. Rowe had to go through the same pressure race and emerged with a place of his own, turning a tight meeting into a narrow escape for the riders chasing the last spots.
Harris added another layer to the Glasgow story. The GB veteran has been here before, reaching the Speedway GP elite the last time an FIM SGP Challenge took place in Italy at Lonigo in 2014, and he now has another chance to push through the qualification ladder.
Terenzano On July 25
The next stop is Terenzano on July 25, where the 2026 FIM SGP Challenge will decide the riders who move closer to the 2027 FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship. Only the top four riders at Terenzano will secure those places, which leaves every qualifier in Glasgow with another round to survive before the path opens fully.
That is the complication for Huckenbeck and the others who advanced: Glasgow only gets them to the gate. The decisive cut comes at Terenzano, where a top-four finish is the only route into the 2027 championship field.
