Vidosic Leads Brighton Into Womens Fa Cup Final 2026
Brighton reached the womens fa cup final 2026, and Dario Vidosic will take them to Wembley against Manchester City four months after his father Rado died from cancer. Brighton’s first major women’s final also gives the club a shot at its first major trophy.
Wembley And Rado Vidosic
Vidosic said, "He’s always in my thoughts" as he prepared for Sunday’s final. He added, "I’ll take that with me, not just to Wembley, but in every moment in life."
Rado Vidosic had been working as the women’s team’s head of coaching when he died. He also led Melbourne City’s women’s side to an A-League double in 2020 and won trophies as Ange Postecoglou’s assistant at Brisbane Roar 15 years ago.
Brighton’s Route To The Final
Brighton reached the final by beating Liverpool 3-2 in the semi-final after coming back from two goals down. Nadine Noordam scored in the 95th minute to settle it and send Brighton into their third semi-final in six years, this time one step further.
The run also included a quarter-final win over Arsenal. Brighton had already beaten Manchester City in their most recent Women’s Super League meeting in April, so Sunday brings a quick rematch with the trophy on the line.
Vidosic And Brighton’s First Trophy Chance
Vidosic called the run "a fantastic achievement" and said "only the winner is remembered" before adding, "I want to be the part of the history, to be the first [Brighton] team to bring a trophy back."
His wife and children will be at the match. For Brighton, the final is more than a one-off chance at silverware; for Vidosic, it is tied to a family loss he has carried into the season’s biggest day.
