COMPUCHILD expands into Union City, Hayward with Steam Education

COMPUCHILD expanded its steam education program into Union City and Hayward, California, on May 28, 2026. Ms. Samareen Rafai will own and operate the new territory, bringing after-school enrichment, weekend sessions, holiday camps, and summer camps to elementary and middle school students.

Rafai said, "Being both a parent and an instructor gave me a very personal understanding of how children respond to engaging, hands-on learning experiences". She also said, "When I first started teaching with COMPUCHILD, I immediately connected with the programs because children were not simply memorizing concepts; they were actively building, exploring, creating, and thinking independently."

Rafai’s COMPUCHILD territory

COMPUCHILD said Rafai spent more than three years teaching enrichment classes with the company before moving into ownership. The company described itself as a rapidly growing children's education franchise, and said its Entrepreneurial STEAM approach combines STEM and STEAM, financial awareness, communication, and ethics.

Rafai has a background in Computer Science Engineering and more than five years of experience in the IT industry. She also has several years of experience working in education and with elementary school students, which places her in the same schools and age group the new territory is meant to serve.

Union City and Hayward programs

The new territory will offer robotics engineering, coding, drone programming, 3D printing, clean technology, electrical circuits, speech and debate, financial awareness, digital book writing, Science Bowl preparation, investing, AI and machine learning, and startup pitch development. Those offerings are designed for elementary and middle school students, with delivery through after-school classes, weekend enrichment sessions, holiday camps, and summer camps.

Rafai said, "Seeing that excitement in children inspired me to bring these programs to even more families through franchise ownership." She added, "What truly stood out to me was the collaborative culture within COMPUCHILD." For families in Union City and Hayward, the practical change is simple: the territory now gives them access to a broader set of hands-on enrichment options under one operator rather than a single-school program.
