Microsoft Unveils Surface Laptop Ultra With Rtx Spark Laptop Power
Microsoft introduced the rtx spark laptop called Surface Laptop Ultra, and it is the first Surface laptop to pair an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU with up to 128GB of unified memory and full CUDA support. The machine is aimed at creators, developers, and AI builders who need serious local compute on Windows.
Microsoft describes Surface Laptop Ultra as the most powerful Surface Laptop it has built. The company says it delivers 1 petaflop of AI compute and can run up to 120B parameter models locally.
Surface Laptop Ultra and NVIDIA
The laptop was engineered with NVIDIA from the silicon up and optimized for RTX Spark, which means Microsoft is not treating the GPU as a generic add-on. That matters for buyers who want a laptop that can handle AI workloads, long compile cycles, and heavy 3D projects without immediately reaching for cloud compute.
Unified memory is the other key change. Microsoft says the pool of RAM can be dynamically allocated across CPU and GPU workloads, so the same memory budget can move between tasks instead of sitting fixed in one place.
Display and ports
Surface Laptop Ultra uses a 15-inch mini-LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen with up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness and 262 pixels per inch, so the panel is built for bright, dense content rather than a basic office display. The laptop also includes HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, SD card, and headphone ports.
Microsoft says the device has the largest haptic touchpad ever put on a Surface, which should help on a machine meant for dense workflows where pointer accuracy and gesture control matter.
Pre-release Surface limits
The laptop will ship in Platinum and Nightfall finishes, and Microsoft says it should be available later this year. The catch is that Surface Laptop Ultra is still a pre-release product, and Microsoft says features are subject to change and may vary by country or region.
That leaves buyers with a clear spec sheet but no final retail details yet, including the exact configuration that will reach each market.
