Knicks Push Past Cavaliers 3-0 Lead in Nyknicks Swing
nyknicks took a 3-0 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, and now the Knicks are one win from finishing the series in Cleveland tonight. No NBA playoff team has ever erased a 3-0 deficit, which leaves the Cavaliers facing elimination with the same pressure that has already pushed them to the brink.
Bridges And Brunson
Mikal Bridges has been steady through the series, scoring 22 points in Game 3 after averaging 19.1 points on 69.1% shooting over his last eight games. He has scored in all three games against Cleveland and has reached 17 points or more in seven of those eight games, while Jalen Brunson has answered with either 30 points or 14 assists in every game of the series.
That scoring balance has been part of why New York has stayed in control. Since the fourth quarter of Game 1, the Knicks have held Cleveland's offense mostly in check, and the Cavaliers have allowed New York to shoot 51.6% from the field across the series.
Mitchell Carries Cleveland
Donovan Mitchell remains Cleveland's main scoring threat at 26.0 points per game in the series, and he is expected to play through a groin issue if health allows. His postseason track record in elimination settings is louder than his current series average: he put up 34.2 points per game against the Pacers last season, including games of 48 and 43 points, and averaged 36.8 points per game against the Celtics two seasons ago with games of 50 and 39 points.
Jarrett Allen and Max Strus give Cleveland additional DFS angles, but both arrive with very different recent shapes. Allen posted 58.8 fantasy points in Game 7 against the Raptors and 36.2 in Game 7 against the Pistons, while Strus has shown 30-plus fantasy-point upside and has landed between 28.8 and 38.5 fantasy points six times in these playoffs.
Cavaliers Face The Sweep Line
Game 4 tonight gives Cleveland one shot to force the series back to New York and avoid becoming the second straight Knicks opponent to get swept. The path is narrow, and the numbers point back to the same place: New York has the lead, New York has the efficient offense, and Cleveland needs Mitchell to drag the series back into reach.
