Victor Wembanyama Height Draws 7-foot-5 Estimate for Spurs Star
Victor Wembanyama’s wembanyama height is being recalculated again, and the new read puts the San Antonio Spurs star closer to 7-foot-5 than to the 7-foot-4 listing tied to him on the NBA website. “I’m here to tell you that the Spurs are lying, and Wemby is actually even taller than that.”
He was listed at 7-foot-4, measured 7-foot-4 barefoot in the summer of 2022 at 18 years old, and later came in at 7-foot-3.5 barefoot at his 2023 introductory press conference. The latest estimate pegs him at least 7-foot-5 on the court and gives him a best guess of 7-foot-5.5 in shoes.
Wembanyama and the Spurs listing
The height debate matters because the Spurs appear to use barefoot measurements as their official listings, and they do not round up on half inches. That leaves Wembanyama’s 7-foot-4 listing looking more like a floor than a ceiling, especially for a player who is already the tallest by listing in the NBA.
Wembanyama is in his third season, and he is taking centerstage in the 2026 NBA Finals as the Spurs play the New York Knicks. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and he has not had a playoff appearance before this postseason.
Wembanyama vs. Edey and Clingan
The comparison group makes the case even harder to ignore. Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Edey is listed at 7-foot-3 on the NBA website, but he measured 7-foot-3.75 at the 2025 NBA Draft combine in the same class as Stephon Castle, who measured 7-foot-5.5. Carter Bryant measured 6-foot-6.5 barefoot at the combine and is listed at 6-foot-6 by the Spurs, while Dylan Harper measured 6-foot-4.5 barefoot and is listed at 6-foot-5.
Wembanyama also looks taller than Donovan Clingan in photos when they have faced off, and he appeared at least an inch or two taller than Edey in a photo from the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup. That same event marked the start of his one-sided rivalry with Chet Holmgren.
Wembanyama’s 7-foot-5.5 estimate
The cleanest takeaway is the simplest one: the Spurs’ official number may already understate him, even before adding shoes. “He’s at least 7’5 on the court, and probably even a little bit taller.”
“My best guess for Wembanyama’s height in shoes is 7’5.5.” For a player already reshaping the league’s tallest matchups, the number only tightens the margin between listed height and what he actually brings to the floor.
