Ford Bronco Filson Edition launches first-ever rugged SUV for early 2027

Ford and Filson have introduced the ford bronco filson edition, the first-ever Bronco Filson SUV, and say it will go on sale in early 2027. The new model is the newest member of the Bronco lineup and is pitched as a rugged premium 4x4 for drivers heading into remote places with more comfort and convenience.

The Bronco Filson uses a proven 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 shared with the Bronco Raptor, with application-specific tuning for this model. Every Bronco Filson also comes standard with the Sasquatch package, Trail Turn Assist, Trail 1-Pedal Drive, and a Terrain Management System with seven driver-selectable G.O.A.T. Modes.

Ford says the high-strength steel ladder frame is the backbone of every Bronco Filson, matching the vehicle’s built-for-trail pitch with hardware meant for harsh conditions. The company also lists fast 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity, SYNC 4 infotainment with a standard 12-inch screen, and access to the standard 360-degree camera system.

The seven G.O.A.T. Modes are Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, Baja, Off-Road, and Rock Crawl. Trail Turn Assist is designed to tighten the off-road turning radius, while Trail 1-Pedal Drive is aimed at slow-speed rock crawling.

Filson craftsmanship and Bronco DNA

Ford and Filson say the Bronco Filson combines Built Wild extreme durability with the heirloom-quality craftsmanship of a Filson Tin Cloth short-lined cruiser jacket. The model also retains Bronco’s original “Goes Over Any Type of Terrain” DNA while adding premium features that lift comfort and functionality.

That combination places the vehicle between rugged off-road equipment and a more refined cabin setup. Buyers who want the Bronco nameplate’s trail focus but also the added convenience of features like onX off-road trail maps through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have the clearest read on what this launch is meant to offer.

Early 2027 Bronco sale

The only date Ford and Filson have attached to the new model is early 2027, when the Bronco Filson goes on sale. For shoppers tracking the Bronco lineup, that means the vehicle is now fully introduced, but delivery is still ahead.

For now, the practical takeaway is simple: Ford has put a premium off-road Bronco on the calendar, and the first customers will be looking at an early 2027 start rather than an immediate launch.
