Jordan Kealy Charged With Sexual Assault in Fort St. John

jordan kealy was charged with one count of sexual assault on Wednesday in Fort St. John Provincial Court. The British Columbia Prosecution Service said the charge relates to alleged offences between Jan. 1 and Sept. 20, 2024.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Fort St. John on July 6. Kealy said he has done nothing wrong and is completely innocent, while adding that he will continue to do his job as an MLA to help his constituents.

Fort St. John Allegations

The charge covers a period that began before Kealy was elected to represent Peace River North in October 2024. Special prosecutor Gail Barnes was appointed on Feb. 9 in relation to an investigation by the Prince George RCMP, and the prosecution service said the appointment was made to avoid potential improper influence in the administration of justice.

Kealy was elected as a BC Conservative and left the party in March 2025. The case now moves into the court process, with his first appearance in Fort St. John set to put the allegation before a judge for the first time.

Jordan Kealy Court Date

Kealy is the second sitting B.C. legislator facing criminal charges. Former B.C. Conservative Hon Chan was charged in March with assault, assault by choking and uttering threats in a case of alleged intimate partner violence.

For Kealy, the immediate change is procedural: one criminal charge, a court date on July 6, and a sitting MLA under a public allegation that predates his election. His statement leaves the dispute to be tested in court, where the allegation and his denial will meet the same record.
