Benvenuto Cellini Leads Epsom Derby 2026 Odds at 25-1

Benvenuto Cellini leads the betting for epsom derby 2026 at 25-1, with the race set for Saturday at Epsom. Aidan O’Brien sends four runners and is chasing a 12th Derby victory.

The favourite is drawn in stall 11 and carries a Timeform rating of 125. Wayne Lordan has the ride after Benvenuto Cellini finished second in both the Group One Futurity at Doncaster last season and the Dante Stakes at York last month.

Benvenuto Cellini at Epsom

That recent form gives him a clear profile heading into the Classic. He was beaten a half-length by Hawk Mountain on heavy ground at Doncaster, then went down by two and three-quarter lengths to Item at York, before the Newmarket Stakes win in early May reset the form line behind him.

The step up in trip could conceivably bring more improvement, and recent rain at Epsom may help if the ground again plays on the slower side. For punters, the key number is still 25-1: the market has him on top, but not by a margin that shuts out the rest of the field.

O'Brien's Four-Runner Group

O’Brien’s other three runners keep the race from becoming a one-horse story. The Derby remains a deep betting contest, and the range from 25-1 at the head to 300-1 at the tail shows how spread out the market is.

Charlie Johnston’s runner is the nearest challenger on prices at 16-1 from stall 10, with a Timeform rating of 123p. David Egan takes the mount after that horse won the Newmarket Stakes in early May, giving the yard a line of form that sits close to the favourite.

Draws And Prices At Epsom

Andrew Balding’s runner goes from stall 7 with Jamie Spencer aboard and is priced at 300-1 on a Timeform rating of 105. Jane Chapple-Hyam’s runner has stall 2, a Timeform rating of 112 and odds of 150-1, while Richard Hannon’s runner has stall 6, a Timeform rating of 97p and odds of 250-1.

Chapple-Hyam’s runner has won once in four starts, and Hannon’s has just one win in four starts as well, that coming in an all-weather maiden at Kempton in April. Big crowds are expected on Saturday, and the race will reward anyone who can sort the front of the market from the outsiders fast enough to get on before the price moves again.
