Langdon Tops 3.709 at New England Dragway
Shawn Langdon put down a 3.709-second run at 334.98 mph on Friday at new england dragway, taking the provisional No. 1 spot in Top Fuel at the NHRA New England Nationals. Alexis DeJoria and Greg Anderson also led their classes after the opening day of qualifying.
Langdon Leads Top Fuel
Langdon made the run in his Kalitta Air dragster for Kalitta Motorsports and added the No. 1 Clawifier Award presented by NAPA to the effort. He entered the event as the Top Fuel points leader and arrived with momentum, having won three straight races and four of the past six.
Leah Pruett followed at 3.712, and Josh Hart was third with a 3.724 at 337.92. The gap at the top was tight, but Langdon still owned the quickest pass in the class by Friday night.
DeJoria at 3.929
DeJoria’s 3.929-second pass at 312.42 mph put her on top in Funny Car in a 12,000-horsepower Bandero Café Chevrolet SS for John Force Racing. That run gave her the provisional No. 1 qualifier spot as Friday qualifying closed.
Greg Anderson completed the group of provisional leaders in Pro Stock, giving the New England Nationals three different classes with early top spots. The Friday order mattered because it came at the eighth of 20 races in the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, where the provisional marks still had to hold through the rest of the event.
Friday Order at New England Dragway
Langdon said, “It’s a great feeling. These guys have worked so hard the last couple of years, and it’s nice to finally see the dividends of all that hard work show up on the scoreboard.” He also said, “I used to be a fan of those teams where you knew Friday night they were going to throw down. Now that’s our story and that’s a pretty cool feeling.”
He added, “Brian (Husen, crew chief) is the opposite of complacent. He’s always pushing, always looking for the next thing, always trying to be better. I feel like that mindset is across the entire team right now. There’s really good chemistry going on. We did a really good job adapting to the conditions today, and then with the night run, we knew we had to step on it.”
