Nicole Gosling Signs Through 2028-29 With PWHL Hamilton

PWHL Hamilton signed nicole gosling on June 6, 2026, and locked the defender in through the 2028-29 campaign. The move adds one of the league’s top rookies to the expansion club before its inaugural 2026-27 season.

Gosling’s Hamilton contract

Gosling joined on a Professional Women’s Hockey League Standard Player Agreement after spending last season with the Montréal Victoire. She became the fourth of five players added by Hamilton during Phase 2 of the league’s Expansion Roster Distribution Process.

The signing extends a run that started with Montréal taking her with the fourth overall pick in the 2025 PWHL Draft. Hamilton now has another piece for its first roster, and it arrives with a player who has already handled top-line responsibility in the league.

In 2025-26, Gosling put up 19 points, with 3 goals and 16 assists. Her assists ranked second among all defenders and sixth among all players, while her plus-16 rating tied for fourth in the league and second among rookies.

She also added three points in nine postseason contests. That production came after her senior national team debut at the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championship, where she won gold for Canada.

Hamilton’s expansion push

Hamilton was announced on May 13 as one of the league’s four new expansion teams and will debut at TD Coliseum in the fall. Friday’s earlier additions were Brianne Jenner, Alina Müller and Kayle Osborne on three-year contracts, leaving one more roster slot available in Phase 2.

That process began Friday at 12 p.m. ET and runs until Monday, June 8 at 1 p.m. ET. Existing teams can lose a maximum of three players under contract for the 2026-27 season during that window, and Hamilton can acquire five players in Phase 2 through signings and, if needed, a player selection process.
