Nelly Korda Shoots 67 at Lpga Us Open to Move Within Two

Nelly Korda turned a tense lpga us open into a weekend opportunity on Friday, shooting a four-under 67 in Round 2 to reach two under at Riviera CC in Los Angeles. She now sits two shots off the lead heading into Saturday’s third round.

Korda’s Friday push

The World No. 1 needed that kind of round after a rough first day put her in danger of missing the cut. Instead, she climbed back into contention fast enough to make the late rounds matter again.

Her 67 did more than trim the margin. It moved her from cut-line concern to a spot near the top of the board, with the weekend already secured before Saturday morning’s third round.

Lee and Yin at four under

Alison Lee shot a 68 on Friday and joined Ruoning Yin at four under for the lead. That leaves Korda chasing the pair from two strokes back, while Jennifer Kupcho is among a large group tied at three under entering Round 3.

The leaderboard is tight enough that one clean round can move a player from the pack into the final pairing mix. Korda’s position is better than it was 24 hours earlier, but she still has work to do against the co-leaders and the group at three under.

Saturday coverage at Riviera CC

The third round was scheduled to begin Saturday morning at Riviera CC, and viewers had several ways to follow it. USA aired coverage from 5-7 p.m. ET, NBC carried the round from 7-10 p.m. ET, and Peacock simulcast NBC’s window from 7-10 p.m. ET.

Featured group coverage was also available on USWomensOpen.com, the USGA App, Peacock, YouTube TV, DirecTV and Xfinity. With Korda back in the mix and the lead at four under, Saturday’s broadcast windows carried the players who could reshape the championship by nightfall.
