Dalston Soda Company Recalls Pineapple Soda Cans Over Rupture Risk
The dalston soda company recall covers some Pineapple Soda cans and four-can multipacks after the Food Standards Agency said they may rupture unexpectedly. Customers who bought the affected products have been told not to drink them and to throw them away.
The notice says the cans have a best before date of 4 August 2027. Single cans carry batch code 037130, while the four-can multipacks carry batch code 037129.
Food Standards Agency Notice
The Food Standards Agency said on Friday: "There is a risk that the cans may unexpectedly break apart and leave sharp edges which may cause injury". Dalston Soda Company described the problem as a packaging defect.
Anyone with the affected cans can get a full refund by contacting the company, even without a receipt. Customers were told not to return the cans to shops.
Dalston Soda Company Products
No other Dalston's products were affected. The brand, created by chefs in the since-closed Passing Clouds nightclub in Dalston, east London, is sold in several supermarkets, certain pub chains and some attractions in London.
The recall follows earlier drink product actions in 2023 and 2024, when Jeremy Clarkson recalled some batches of his Hawkstone cider bottles after reports of the glass bottles suddenly exploding, and Brew York recalled cans of its Juice Forsyth IPA over concerns they could explode and injure people.
For shoppers, the practical step is simple: check the batch code and best before date before opening any Pineapple Soda can or multipack, and use the refund route rather than taking affected cans back to a shop.
