Ryan Glover Joins Stockport County After 94 Barnet Appearances
Ryan Glover has joined Stockport County after 94 appearances for Barnet, ending a spell that produced 14 goals and 20 assists. The 25-year-old winger leaves after helping Barnet regain their EFL status and win the National League title.
Glover Leaves Barnet After 94 Games
Barnet described Gloves as one of the great success stories of the club, and the numbers back that up. He played in all but one game during the title-winning season and scored eight goals, then started all 46 league fixtures in Barnet’s first season back in the Football League.
His Barnet debut came against Southend United at home in the opening game of the 2024/25 season. One week later, he scored his first Barnet goal in a 7-0 win against Tamworth and added two assists, a fast start that set the tone for the rest of his time in black and amber.
Dean Brennan On Glover
Dean Brennan said Glover had been one of the great success stories of the club. He added: “He’s given us 24 brilliant months and helped us to get to where we are now and now, he jumps up the food chain, which is full credit to him and his family.”
Brennan also said: “He was the ultimate professional and epitomised everything we’re about at Barnet, so I wish him nothing but success at his new club.” He described him as “dynamic, athletic, and went to the line in everything he did” and said he had “extreme pace and dribbling skills.”
Stockport County Gain Pace
Glover’s output was spread across Barnet’s title run and their return to the EFL. He scored twice against Sutton United, scored against Yeovil Town in both fixtures, and scored against Oldham Athletic in both fixtures, while his first EFL goal came in a 2-1 win away at Crewe Alexandra.
He also scored in a home win against Accrington Stanley, in a road win against Bristol Rovers, and netted Barnet’s first goal in a 3-2 win over Oldham Athletic at The Hive. Barnet finished ninth in their return to the EFL and were in reach of the play-offs until the penultimate game of the campaign, so Stockport have signed a winger who delivered production in both promotion and league football.
For Barnet, the loss is immediate: a back-to-back Player of the Season winner is gone after 94 games, 14 goals and 20 assists. For Stockport, the move brings in a player who has already shown he can handle a title race, a league return and the pressure that came with both.
