Liverpool Fc Released Players List Sees 12 Players Depart

Liverpool fc released players list has 12 players leaving the club, with Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate among those heading out. The retained-list decision also leaves the first team and academy facing clear turnover before pre-season, while eight young players have been offered new contracts.

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson

Salah and Robertson were given a farewell send-off at Anfield on the final-day draw with Brentford, and now their departures are part of the club’s retained-list call. Ibrahima Konate is also among the players to leave, extending the reach of the move beyond the academy group.

That list includes Rhys Williams, who departs after 15 years at Liverpool, along with James Balagizi and Oakley Cannonier. Williams had played a pivotal role as defensive cover under Jurgen Klopp during the 2021-21 campaign, while Balagizi was an unused substitute for Liverpool’s wins over Shrewsbury and Norwich in the domestic cup double in 2022.

Oakley Cannonier and Rhys Williams

Cannonier’s name stands out for a moment that still sits in Liverpool memory. In 2019, he handed Trent Alexander-Arnold the ball for the winning goal against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final win, and he is now one of the 12 players leaving.

Kareem Ahmed leads the list of youngsters departing, alongside Emmanuel Airoboma, DJ Bernard, Josh Davidson, Terence Miles and Jacob Poytress. The club has offered new contracts to Kyle Kelly, Afolami Onanuga, Oliver O'Connor, Lucas Pitt, Ben Trueman, Matthew Wright, Prince Cisse and Keyrol Figueroa, which means the retained list is not a blanket clear-out but a split decision across the age groups.

Liverpool retained list decisions
