Eagles Sign Aj Epenesa After Browns Backed Out

The Eagles signed aj epenesa on Wednesday, landing a defensive end after the Browns backed out of a deal to sign him on March 29. The move gives Philadelphia a veteran edge option after the failed physical that stopped the earlier agreement.

Epenesa After March 29

Epenesa’s path to Philadelphia stretched across three visits. After Cleveland withdrew its offer, he visited the Dolphins and Bears before the Eagles finished the job.

The Browns pulled back because of a failed physical, and the injuries that surfaced last season help explain why the process stalled. Epenesa dealt with a concussion, a pectoral injury, a foot injury and a neck injury during the year.

Epenesa’s Buffalo Resume

Even with those setbacks, Epenesa stayed on the field for 16 regular-season games in 2025. He finished with 32 tackles and 2.5 sacks, then played in the divisional playoff game despite being listed on the injury report with a neck injury.

The former second-round pick in 2020 spent his entire career with the Bills before this move. In 91 regular-season games with 19 starts, he has totaled 24 sacks, enough production to make him a useful addition to a Philadelphia defense looking for another steady rotational piece.

Michael Jordan Joins

The Eagles also signed offensive guard Michael Jordan on Wednesday and waived linebackers Chandler Martin and Isiah King in corresponding moves. Jordan entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the Bengals in 2019 and has also played with the Panthers and Patriots.

Jordan was with the Bucs last season, when he appeared in 11 games with nine starts. Over his career, he has played 78 games with 49 starts, giving Philadelphia another experienced lineman while the roster shuffle opened two linebacker spots.
