Steelers Roster Cuts Aiden Williams in Multiple Moves

The steelers roster cuts aiden williams move came as Pittsburgh released the offensive lineman in a larger set of roster changes. The Steelers also cut long snapper Cal Adomitis, then added several players on one-year and four-year contracts while reshaping the back end of the roster.

Williams and Adomitis Leave

Williams was one of two players let go as the Steelers made multiple transactions. Adomitis joined him on the release list, creating room for a series of additions that touched offense, defense and special teams.

The roster work did not stop there. Pittsburgh signed receiver Joaquin Davis and defensive back Daryl Porter to one-year contracts, claimed punter Aidan Laros off waivers, and added linebacker Jamin Davis, tight end Robert Tonyan, safety Darnell Savage and defensive lineman Dean Lowry on one-year deals.

Joaquin Davis and Daryl Porter

Davis arrives with a short but layered path. During the 2025 NFL Draft, he entered the league as an undrafted free agent, and during the 2025 and 2026 offseason periods he spent time on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad.

Porter brings a different trail. He was originally signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent during the 2025 NFL Draft, later spent time with the Steelers practice squad in the 2025 season, and was elevated for the Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions. During training camp, Buffalo released him and he signed with Pittsburgh.

Steelers Add Rodgers

More of the list reached into both the draft and established veterans. The Steelers signed quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a one-year contract, second-round draft pick Germie Bernard and seventh-round draft pick Eli Heidenreich to four-year contracts, undrafted free agent defensive back Tamon Lynum, first-round draft pick Max Iheanachor to a four-year contract, and gave Darnell Washington a new five-year contract.

Nick Herbig also received a new five-year contract, keeping the move from looking like a simple clearance sale. Pittsburgh released Williams, but the rest of the day showed a broader reset across the depth chart, with veteran additions, draft signings and contract extensions all landing in the same transaction batch.

For Williams, the practical result is straightforward: he is out of the Steelers’ current lineup plan after a roster day that added multiple players at the same time. For the Steelers, the release came inside a sweep that changed several contract slots and brought in names that can shape the 2025 season roster picture.
