FAA says Southwest wing hit tail at Rhode Island T.f. Green International Airport
Southwest Airlines Flight 3515’s wing made contact with the tail of Southwest Airlines Flight 3409 at rhode island t.f. green international airport around 10:45 p.m. Thursday night, according to the FAA. Both planes returned to their gates and let out passengers after the incident.

The FAA said the contact happened as Flight 3515 pushed back onto the taxiway. Passengers on the plane told 10 they had to yell at the cockpit after the plane allegedly collided while taxiing.
One passenger said he was moved to a window seat because it was a half-empty plane and that they had already been delayed six hours. He said he later noticed the plane was getting a little close to another and did not think they would collide.

After the alleged collision, the passenger said the plane just kept driving and it took a few people speaking up for somebody to notice what allegedly happened. The FAA said it will investigate the incident, while FlightAware listed the flight as canceled.
The plane is expected to take off on Friday afternoon. The incident adds a second layer for passengers who were already waiting through a six-hour delay before the contact between the two Southwest flights.
