Tarek El Moussa Home Burglarized in Newport Beach During Cabo Trip
Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa’s Newport Beach home was burglarized while they were on a trip to Cabo San Lucas, and Heather Rae El Moussa said the couple felt violated after coming home to the damage. Newport Beach police said unknown suspects broke in through a rear sliding glass door.
Police said the break-in happened between 7:30 a.m. on June 6 and 6 p.m. on June 8. They said several pieces of jewelry were taken, and the suspects ransacked the primary bedroom closet before leaving through the backyard, along the side of the house, and out the front yard.
Heather Rae El Moussa’s Instagram post
Heather Rae El Moussa posted on Instagram that she and Tarek felt “violated” and “sad” after the burglary. She also said, “Taking a break for a few days and will [be] back to explain soon. We are safe and the kids are safe.”
That statement gave the clearest immediate update for the family: the home had been hit, but she said the couple and their children were safe. She identified the emotional impact before saying she would step away from social media for a few days.
Newport Beach home details
The burglary landed at the couple’s primary residence, a Newport Beach dwelling they bought for $5.2 million in June 2025. They had previously introduced the home on Instagram and described it as the start of a new chapter.
The couple also owns another Newport Beach home that is on the rental market with a monthly asking price of $30,000. Police did not say which of their two properties was targeted in the initial account, but Heather Rae El Moussa’s post and the police description pointed to the home that was ransacked.
Police investigation in Newport Beach
Newport Beach police said the suspects fled after taking the jewelry, leaving the family to deal with a break-in that happened during a narrow time window while they were away. The case now centers on the missing property, the forced entry through the rear door, and the suspects’ path out of the house.
For the El Moussas, the immediate next step is a break from social media while they sort through the damage and wait for the investigation to advance. Heather Rae El Moussa said she would explain more soon, but for now the only settled facts are the burglary, the stolen jewelry, and that the family is safe.
