Scott Buchanan urges early arrival for Dayton Air Show, 30,000 expected
The 52nd annual dayton air show is set to begin in Dayton, Ohio, with nearly all displays and performers already on site. Scott Buchanan, chair of the United States Air and Trade Show, said visitors should arrive early because of traffic and the 10 a.m. flying start.
Gates will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, and flying will start around 10 a.m. Buchanan said, "I would arrive early" and added, "I think we start flying around 10 a.m., so I would try to be here between 8-8:30 a.m. because there’ll be a lot of traffic just to get set."
Scott Buchanan on arrival timing
Buchanan's advice is aimed at the crowd expected for the weekend event. More than 30,000 people are expected to attend, and he said he would try to arrive between 8 and 8:30 a.m. Visitors are told to follow the directions of the parking directors.
Dayton Air Show weekend
The weekend will feature performances and displays of aircraft from all over the world. Tickets will still be available at the front gate for $33 per ticket if they were not pre-purchased, giving late arrivals a way in even as traffic builds before the opening flights.
