Jordan Bos Prepares for World Cup Debut With Australia

jordan bos is preparing for his World Cup debut for Australia at the 2026 World Cup, and the Socceroos left full-back says he is trying to treat the moment like work rather than occasion. The 23-year-old said, "I just have to soak up the experience and just play football".

Asked about pressure, he answered, "Not really pressure" and added, "I don’t really look at that stuff. Or think about it too much." Bos said, "It’s kind of hard to ‘feel’ the moment as it is now, but I think afterwards I’ll really understand the experience that I’m in now."

Bos at Feyenoord

His rise has been built on production in Europe. Last year, Bos immediately excelled after moving to Feyenoord, where he was named Eredivisie player of the month for September and finished the season with four goals and six assists. He helped Feyenoord finish second in the Eredivisie and qualify for the Champions League.

That output is the reason his profile has grown so fast. This week, named Bos one of the stars of the World Cup, a reflection of how quickly a left full-back from Point Cook has moved from club success to the global stage.

Point Cook to Australia

Bos grew up in Point Cook in the western suburbs of Melbourne and played junior football for Hoppers Crossing before moving to Dutch club Feyenoord. He is the son of Dutch backpacker Jacco and mother Sandra, and he has leaned into a low-key routine off the pitch.

"I think I’m a pretty chill guy," he said. "I don’t do a lot in my day. I like to stay home and play video games, and stuff like that." He named Rainbow Six Siege as the first-person shooter he plays, and said Ash is his favourite character.

For Australia, the immediate stakes are simpler than the hype around him. Bos is a new attacking outlet on the left, and with the first match a day away and Turkey coming barely three days later, his club form is the clearest reason he has moved from prospect to major option for the Socceroos.
