Free Fan Fest cost one family $25 to park at Nrg Stadium
Free entry at nrg stadium did not mean a free day. Two families moving through Fan Fest ended up paying for parking, food, drinks and snacks, and one group of five said it had already spent about $80 before the day was over.

One fan set the spending expectation early, estimating the day could run about $100 for one person and about $200 with kids. That estimate lined up with what one group of six found when they paid $25 to park across the street before heading inside.
Once inside, the expenses kept climbing in small pieces. One mother said her chips cost $6 and that they would share them, while another said she spent $35 on popsicles for the children. She also said the water was free and that there were refillable stations there, which kept the family from spending on drinks.

The second family, made up of five people, said it had already spent around $80 on food and drinks. One family member put that number squarely on the day’s running total: $80 so far on just food and drinks.
That family added tacos for the children, including three sets of tacos for three kids. The spending pattern was simple and repeated: the event did not charge admission, but the trip still turned into a cash day once parking and food entered the picture.
What families paid inside
The family that planned to go out to a little restaurant after leaving Fan Fest showed how a free event can still leave a tab waiting outside the gates. For families heading to the event, the useful number is not just the admission price but the amount needed for the lot, the snacks, and the meal after the crowd thins out.
