The second family, made up of five people, said it had already spent around $80 on food and drinks. One family member put that number squarely on the day’s running total: $80 so far on just food and drinks.

That family added tacos for the children, including three sets of tacos for three kids. The spending pattern was simple and repeated: the event did not charge admission, but the trip still turned into a cash day once parking and food entered the picture.
