Ivan Toney Scores Hat-Trick in England 6-0 Miami Fc Win
England beat miami fc 6-0 on Thursday in a closed-door friendly at West Palm Beach, and Ivan Toney scored three of the goals. The match came at the end of England’s West Palm Beach training camp and added another 90 minutes of work before next week’s World Cup Group L opener against Croatia.
Toney Leads England’s Six
England scored once in the first 25-minute period and five times in the second 25-minute period. Toney’s hat-trick set the tone for a scoreline that moved quickly away from Miami FC after the interval, with England finishing the game with two wins from two after Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Costa Rica.
Jordan Henderson also stood out for his intensity. Miami FC assistant coach Victor Lonchuk called him “fantastic” and said, “He was super aggressive — not in a way that he is going to hurt people but in getting close to our players, with intensity.”
Tuchel’s Message To Miami FC
Thomas Tuchel opened the match with a blunt instruction to the home side: “Play in any shape you guys want with any game model. We just want to see what we can do against you.” Lonchuk said Miami FC had studied Costa Rica against England and believed they could try the same approach, adding, “We were looking forward to this game for weeks.”
He also called the day unusual for both clubs. “The whole situation was different and it was fantastic,” Lonchuk said, while describing Tuchel after the final whistle: “At the end of the game, he was fantastic. He was picking up towels and bottles that were left on the field.”
Miami FC And Oakland Roots
Miami FC made 11 changes for the second half, a reminder that the match sat inside a busy stretch for the club rather than a standalone showcase. The USL Championship side was seventh in the Eastern Conference and 12 points behind leaders Tampa Bay Rowdies, with Oakland Roots looming on Saturday.
England used the game as the last step of a West Palm Beach camp that produced back-to-back clean sheets and six goals against Miami FC. Toney’s three-goal outing gave Tuchel another sharp attacking note before the Croatia opener, while Miami FC moved straight back toward its league schedule.
