Sri Lanka Beat West Indies by 37 Runs to Level Wi Vs Sl

Sri Lanka levelled wi vs sl on Saturday night in Kingston, beating West Indies by 37 runs at Sabina Park and forcing a 1-1 series scoreline. They posted 194 for 6, then held West Indies to 157 all out in the 19th over to set up Sunday’s decider.

Kamil Mishara and Dasun Shanaka

Kamil Mishara anchored the innings with an unbeaten 61 off 40 balls after Sri Lanka had slipped to 43 for 3. He and Kamindu Mendis added 45 runs to steady the innings before Dasun Shanaka took over late.

Shanaka’s 58 off 24 balls pushed Sri Lanka to a total that West Indies never fully recovered from. Kusal Mendis added 31 off 19 balls, giving Sri Lanka three contributions that kept the scoring moving through the middle and final overs.

West Indies lose early grip

West Indies fell to 9 for 2 inside the second over, and the chase never settled after that start. Shimron Hetmyer made 36 before being run out in the 10th over, while Rovman Powell’s 43 off 26 balls offered resistance without changing the result.

Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga each took three wickets as Sri Lanka kept taking control back whenever West Indies tried to rebuild. Shamar Joseph finished with 3 for 32 and Matthew Forde with 2 for 38, but the bowling figures were not enough to offset the 37-run gap.

Sabina Park series decider

The win erased Sri Lanka’s opening-match defeat and turned the tour into a level series after the second T20I. Sunday’s decider now carries the weight of a 1-1 contest, with both sides having already shown they can seize control in short bursts but not sustain it for long enough to close the series cleanly.
