Sunday night weather window

Sunday’s forecast called for scattered thunderstorms with a risk of tornadoes, after sunshine dominated most of the day and temperatures climbed into the lower to mid-90s. Monday and Tuesday were expected to turn sunny, before humidity returned Wednesday with the chance of afternoon and evening storms. For people in the D.C. region, the practical step was to stay inside through the watch period and wait for the severe weather window to close before treating the evening as clear.
