Jeep Offers 100 Wranglers for Eligible George Washingtons

Jeep launched a World Cup-themed campaign that could hand out up to 100 free Wrangler SUVs, but only to people whose legal name is george washington and only if the United States men's national team wins the 2026 World Cup. Registration opened yesterday and runs through July 19 at 3:00 p.m. ET.

The contest is limited to the first 100 eligible entrants. Jeep says participants must be legal residents of the United States, at least 18 years old, and have George as their legal first name and Washington as their legal last name.

Jeep and the 2026 World Cup

The promotion ties the giveaway to tonight's first match for the U.S. men's national team against Paraguay. Jeep is also using the World Cup in a national-pride campaign and has incorporated the American flag into some of its logos.

The hardest part of the offer is not the entry window. It is the narrow eligibility rule and the team result that must happen before any Wrangler changes hands.

That condition drew the reaction, “That's outrageous,” in response to Jeep's naming requirement. For anyone who qualifies, the route is simple: register before July 19 at 3:00 p.m. ET, then wait for the team result that decides whether the giveaway goes forward.

George Washington eligibility

The legal-name rule leaves the promotion open only to George Washingtons who meet the age and residency limits. Jeep is promising up to 100 vehicles, but only the first 100 qualifying registrations can enter that pool.

The offer turns a standard ad campaign into a very specific sweepstakes: the name must match, the entrant must be an adult U.S. resident, and the national team must win the 2026 World Cup. Without all three pieces, there is no free Wrangler.
