Nick Cotric Eyes NRL Return After Two Seasons With Catalans

Nick Cotric could be headed back to the NRL after two seasons with Catalans Dragons, with several clubs already showing interest. The 27-year-old winger is still under contract in France until the end of 2027, so any move would have to be worked through before he changes leagues again.

Cotric’s NRL pull

Cotric believes he has more to give in the NRL, and that view has put him back on the market for clubs looking at wing depth. He has scored seven tries in 37 appearances for Catalans since arriving, a return that gives interested sides a clear recent sample rather than a long gap on the sideline.

The former Kangaroos and New South Wales winger built his name much earlier in his career. He won the 2017 Dally M Rookie of the Year award, scored 16 tries in his maiden season, and then played for the Canberra Raiders from 2017 to 2020 before a season with the Canterbury Bulldogs in 2021.

Catalans and the long contract

He returned to Canberra from 2022 to 2024, then moved overseas and added two Tests for Serbia in 2024. The key issue now is the contract timeline: Cotric is tied to Catalans until the end of 2027, which leaves the Dragons in control if a return to Australia gains pace.

That is the friction point in his situation. Clubs have interest, Cotric wants another NRL run, and Catalans still hold the paper on him for two more seasons.

Broncos eyes on Hayze Perham

The same reporting also carried a separate Brisbane Broncos contract note. Hayze Perham is off-contract at the end of the 2026 season, and the Broncos are in advanced talks to give him a one-year extension for next season after he arrived at the start of 2025.

Perham’s season has already been shaped by injury. He ruptured his ACL in the club’s maiden pre-season match and was ruled out for the rest of 2025, though he has still appeared in three matches this year and said, “I’d love to stay here,” while adding, “I’m glad I’ve got to repay the Broncos in some way for standing by me.”
