Dame Sarah Storey in 2026 Strictly Come Dancing Lineup Move
Dame Sarah Storey has reportedly signed up for the 2026 strictly come dancing lineup, putting Britain’s most successful Paralympian into a rollout that is still being filled out. The announcement is expected soon, after the has already named three other celebrities and said more names will follow through the summer.
Storey’s 30 medals
Storey brings 30 Paralympic medals and 19 gold medals to the series, a profile that reaches well beyond sport. She began her Paralympic career as a swimmer at Barcelona 1992, aged 14, before switching to cycling and becoming a dominant force on road and track.
Last year, she was part of the Dancing on Ice line-up but withdrew from training after an injury, and the show has since been rested by ITV. That leaves this reported Strictly move as a cleaner fit for a live entertainment brand that is using the 2026 series to refresh its cast while keeping familiar names in the spotlight.
’s summer rollout
The has already announced Lacey Turner, Dani Dyer and Delta Goodrem over the past week, making Goodrem the most recent name tied to the line-up. Goodrem said she had never stepped onto the ballroom floor before joining Strictly and added, “I’ve been incredibly honoured to perform on many different stages throughout my career – from TV, theatre, film sets, to touring my own shows around the world, there is however one stage I’ve never stepped onto and that is the ballroom floor!”
She also said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Strictly and can’t wait to get started!” The said, “Further news about Strictly Come Dancing 2026 will be revealed throughout the summer ahead of the brand new series getting underway on One and iPlayer this September.”
Emma Willis and new dancers
Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe have been named as the new hosts replacing Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, while the series will also feature brand new professional dancers. Returning professionals include Dianne Buswell, Amy Dowden, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Aljaž Škorjanec, Jowita Przystał, Johannes Radebe, Nancy Xu, Kai Widdrington, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Vito Coppola, Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon.
For viewers, the practical read is simple: the 2026 launch is still being staged in pieces, and Storey’s reported addition would give the production another headline name with a proven public profile before the full cast lands this summer.
