Sporting Kansas City released its June 15-21, 2026 schedule as kansas city opens its first two FIFA World Cup 26 matches this week. Argentina faces Algeria on Tuesday at Kansas City Stadium, then Ecuador meets Curacao there on Saturday.
Jake Reid and KC2026
Jake Reid, Sporting Kansas City’s president and CEO, also serves as vice president of the KC2026 Board of Directors. Sporting co-owner Cliff Illig is the board’s co-chair, and the club is listed as an official Host City Supporter.
Kansas City Stadium will stage six World Cup matches in all. After Tuesday and Saturday, the site will also host Tunisia against the Netherlands on June 25, Algeria against Austria on June 27, a Round of 32 match on July 3 and a quarterfinal on July 11.
Argentina Week in Kansas City
The first match week is built around Argentina’s arrival in town, and Sporting KC is tying its own events to that attention. Sporting Kansas City and the Argentine Football Association are hosting a meet and greet at No Other Pub on Monday from 1-3 p.m. CT with Argentina legend Sergio Goycochea and Sporting KC forward Dejan Joveljic.
Tuesday brings a different kind of crowd plan. Go North KC is hosting a watch party at Central Bank Sporting Complex, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. and kickoff set for 8 p.m. CT. The event includes soccer activities for kids, custom murals, interactive games, photo opportunities and live entertainment from DJ Kirby.
Sporting Park This Week
Russell Stover will host a meet and greet with Sporting legend Matt Besler on Tuesday at Experience KC in the Grand Hall at Union Station. The first 25 youth soccer players ages 7-12 will be invited to register for a Sporting KC Youth Soccer clinic with Besler on August 22 at Central Bank Sporting Complex.
Soccer Capital Summer begins at Sporting Park this week as well, open from 11 a.m. to midnight on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday. Admission is free with advance registration, parking can be bought ahead of time for $15 for Season Ticket Members and $20 for the general public, and day-of parking costs $25.
The club’s calendar reflects a crowded week in a city that will host six World Cup matches and has already drawn Algeria, Argentina, England and the Netherlands to its team base camp plans. Sporting KC will also activate at FIFA Fan Festival at the National WWI Museum and Memorial, giving fans a full slate before the season pauses until July 16, when Sporting visits St. Louis CITY SC.
