Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein streamed Office Romance across Hoboken, Kenilworth, Montclair and Fort Monmouth before the film hit Netflix on June 5. The New Jersey shoot gave the rom-com a statewide footprint that matches its setting, which centers on employees of a New Jersey-based airline.
Hoboken Waterfront Scenes
Spring 2025 put Lopez and Goldstein on the Hoboken waterfront, where Jackie and Daniel shared a date over hot chocolate. A fake food truck called Destiny Burritos was parked around town during filming, and Daniel’s apartment exteriors were shot at the Cliffs Lofts building. Hoboken served as the production’s primary base, turning one waterfront stretch into the movie’s most visible local marker.
Hoboken has already been part of a longer screen pipeline, with films such as The Age of Innocence, The Nanny Diaries, Two Lovers and Picture Perfect using the city before Office Romance arrived. For this movie, the location work did more than decorate a scene; it helped sell the idea that the airline story belonged in New Jersey from the start.
Kenilworth To Montclair
Most of the office scenes were filmed in Kenilworth, while the exterior of Air Cruz headquarters was shot at the Northeast Science and Technology Center, which has more than two million square feet of laboratory space. That scale gives the production a corporate look without relying on a studio backlot, and it let the movie use a real New Jersey facility for one of its main work settings.
In Montclair, Jackie’s home was filmed at a Tudor-style estate on Gates Avenue built in 1910. The house includes an indoor pool, a gym, a sauna, a rec room, an outdoor pool and a carriage house, and a Montclair Township spokesperson said the Gates Avenue estate was the only spot the production needed in town. Montclair has also hosted Analyze This on Park Street and Analyze That on Wayside Place, which makes the town a familiar stop for productions that want older residential streets with real texture.
Fort Monmouth Footprint
Some reporting indicates portions of Office Romance were filmed at the Netflix Studios complex taking shape at Fort Monmouth in Monmouth County. That adds a second layer to the project’s New Jersey identity: not just scattered location work, but a production that also tied into the state’s expanding studio infrastructure.
For viewers, the useful takeaway is simple. If the movie’s New Jersey airline setup felt unusually grounded, that came from the locations themselves — Hoboken waterfront, Kenilworth offices, a Montclair estate, East Jersey State Prison exterior shots and Fort Monmouth all did part of the job.
