Clarkson said, “I’d do a sixth if there was a reason for doing it, like a bloody good story… Whatever happens we’ll definitely take a short break as the crews are all worn out. We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest.” That break now looks less like a pause between production blocks and more like part of the release plan.

May Break, Then More Delays

Last May, Clarkson said a filming break was scheduled before any season 6 announcement, and later wrote in his Sunday Times column that filming had been suspended due to various issues. The show’s official Facebook page said production had faced a break, positive TB testing, and relentless rain earlier this year.

This week’s season 5 episodes 7 and 8 landing on Prime Video keeps the series in view, but it also sharpens the gap between what viewers have now and what may arrive next. April brought the first public suggestion that season 6 was on the way, yet the release window is now being pushed later than previously expected.

Diddly Squat Parking Deadline

No decision had been made on Diddly Squat’s parking extension as of the article date, and the current deadline would require Clarkson to return the farm shop’s temporary car park to its natural state by the end of the month. That leaves one production problem tied directly to the next season’s logistics, even as the show’s renewal remains described differently across outlets.

Amazon has not confirmed that the show has been renewed for a sixth season, but multiple news outlets say it has. Season 6 could also be the final installment, which fits Clarkson’s own view that the series has reached the edge of its “natural shelf life.”

Summer 2027 Window

A summer 2027 release now looks like the likeliest target, and that is later than the schedule viewers may have expected after season 5. The next stretch of news will come from production rather than promotion: whether the filming suspension eases, and whether Diddly Squat’s parking setup is resolved before the month ends.
