Fable 5, Mythos 5, and Access
Fable 5 is the public version with extra safeguards, while Mythos 5 uses different controls and is limited to a select group of organisations. Anthropic first gave preview and testing access in April to a relatively small number of organisations, including departments within the US government, before expanding the rollout last week.
Dozens of tech leaders and cybersecurity executives have called on the US government to allow Anthropic to release the models to the public. For users, the practical issue is simple: public access is off, the company is meeting regulators on Monday, and there is no stated timetable for when Fable 5 or Mythos 5 may open again.
