Kilmarnock Football Club has moved its two home premier sports cup Group H matches to Beechwood Park in Auchinleck while extensive pitch renovations continue at BBSP Stadium Rugby Park. Neil McCann's side will now play Raith Rovers and Hamilton Academical away from their usual ground, with both fixtures set for 7.45pm.
Beechwood Park in Auchinleck
The rearranged home fixtures land at Beechwood Park in Auchinleck on Tuesday, July 14 against Raith Rovers and on Tuesday, July 21 against Hamilton Academical. Auchinleck Talbot is accommodating Kilmarnock's request to host the matches there, keeping the two home games together on the same tight schedule.
McCann now has his side preparing for two cup nights at a different ground rather than BBSP Stadium Rugby Park. That shift is the direct result of the pitch work at the club's home stadium, where a hybrid, grass pitch is being installed.
Group H fixtures
The Group H picture also includes two away trips. Kilmarnock visit Elgin City on Saturday, 18 at 3pm before going to Peterhead on Saturday, 25 at 3pm. Those away dates sit around the moved home matches, so the group stage is still compact even with the venue switch.
For supporters, the immediate change is simple: both home games now belong at Beechwood Park rather than BBSP Stadium Rugby Park, and both start at 7.45pm. Ticket details will be released in due course, so anyone planning to attend needs to wait for the club's next update before making the final arrangements.
BBSP Stadium Rugby Park
The complication is obvious. Kilmarnock's home fixtures are being played away from their own stadium because the renovation work is not ready in time for the Premier Sports Cup schedule. That leaves the club balancing a summer group stage at one venue while the long-term work continues at another.
