Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 Rumors Advance on FCC and CMIIT Filings

Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 rumors grew sharper in June 2026 after FCC and CMIIT filings surfaced for the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Samsung still had not used the Galaxy Watch 9 name in any official statement by June 19, 2026. The filings point to a launch getting close, while Samsung Health updates suggest which features may arrive first.

Samsung Health and Hon Pak

Samsung announced a major update to Samsung Health on June 4, 2026, and said the rollout would begin on June 8, 2026. Hon Pak said, "the update connects your health data to AI-driven insights, helping you better understand your body." The app now centers on Sleep, Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness, and Vitals, which makes the software side of the next watch line look more tightly tied to health tracking than before.

FCC and CMIIT filings

In the middle of June 2026, the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 cleared FCC and CMIIT certification. The Watch 9 filings list SM-L340 and SM-L345 for the 40mm model, plus SM-L350 and SM-L355 for the 44mm model, while the Watch Ultra 2 appears as SM-L715. No Classic model number appeared in either filing, which is the clearest public sign that Samsung may be trimming the lineup rather than widening it.

Snapdragon Wear Elite and Exynos W1000

Qualcomm said at MWC 2026 in March that the next Galaxy Watch will use its Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, and InKang Song said, "the new chip will help the watch become an even better wellness companion." Notebookcheck says only the Watch Ultra 2 will get that chip, while the standard Watch 9 keeps the older Exynos W1000. That split would leave buyers choosing between a single-chip upgrade path and a more familiar processor on the base model.

July 22, 2026 in London

Korean media reports point to July 22, 2026, in London for Samsung’s next Unpacked event, and those reports say the Galaxy Watch 9 line should share the stage with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, and Galaxy Glasses. Samsung has not set that date in public, and it has also not said whether blood sugar tracking will move beyond rumor. Current Galaxy Watch models do not directly measure blood sugar, and the US Food and Drug Administration has already warned consumers not to trust wearables that claim to do that without piercing the skin.
