BART will add special late-night service after midnight for the 8pm FIFA World Cup matches on Friday, June 19, and Monday, June 22, giving fans a ride home from Levi's Stadium after regular service hours. The move is aimed at the late return window, when the system says it is usually closed.

Late-night trains are expected to run every 30 minutes between 12:30am and 1:40am, though the exact departure times are not listed. Riders will pay the regular fare, and BART is not using surge pricing for FIFA.

Milpitas departure window

The special event trains are tied to the last VTA trains coming from the stadium, so the transfer point matters as much as the rail schedule itself. The last scheduled BART train that stops at all stations systemwide leaves Milpitas at 11:53pm toward the East Bay and San Francisco, while the last scheduled train to Berryessa Station is 1:47am.

That leaves the extra post-midnight service as the only planned option for fans leaving after the matches. BART says it will run longer trains, bolster staff and security presence, and add extra lighting at key station parking lots for returning fans.

Open stations only

The special trains will not stop everywhere. They will only serve Bay Fair, Dublin, MacArthur, El Cerrito del Norte, Fremont, Hayward, Pleasant Hill, Powell Street, South Hayward, Union City, and Warm Springs/South Fremont stations, and all other stations are closed after midnight.

Fans who want to park at BART for the return trip need to leave their cars at Bay Fair, Dublin, MacArthur, El Cerrito del Norte, Fremont, Hayward, Pleasant Hill, South Hayward, Union City, or Warm Springs/South Fremont. Powell Street Station in downtown San Francisco does not have parking, and San Mateo County riders should take Caltrain home.

Tap and Ride access

BART says riders can use Tap and Ride to pay directly at the fare gate by tapping a credit or debit card or mobile payment, with no transit card or ticket required. Each person needs their own phone or card, so groups can’t share one payment method for the ride home.

For fans coming back from Levi's Stadium, the practical choice is simple: start and end at one of the listed stations, get to Milpitas for the post-match departures, and use the regular fare system instead of hunting for a separate ticket. The schedule is narrow, the station list is limited, and the service is built for the late exit after the June 19 and June 22 matches.
