Robert Irwin won the 34th season of the U.S. Dancing with the Stars in 2025, taking home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy while keeping his Australia Zoo role at the center of his public profile. The result adds a television win to a career built around wildlife education, conservation, and on-camera work.

Irwin already reaches thousands of guests through Australia Zoo’s daily Wildlife Warrior's Show, where he showcases crocodiles’ natural behaviour. He is also part of the annual crocodile research trip on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve in Far North Queensland, where he has helped catch and tag crocodiles with tracking devices before releasing them back into the wild.

Irwin’s work at Australia Zoo gives the TV win a different context than a typical entertainment result. He is presented as a wildlife conservationist and television personality at the same time, moving between a daily education role and a national entertainment stage.

That mix also explains why the 2025 result sits alongside other recent public-facing roles. In 2025, he was named the official face of Australia through Tourism Australia, and he also voiced a koala in Zootopia 2.

2024 awards and nominations

The 2025 win follows a run of honors and nominations in 2024. Irwin was once again named ambassador for the Earthshot Prize in 2024, won the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for Aussie/Kiwi Legend of the Year, and was nominated alongside Julia Morris for the TV Week Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television.

Those earlier recognitions placed him across wildlife, tourism, and television in the same year. He had also been named an ambassador for Prince William's Earthshot Prize in 2020, won the Wildlife Photographer Of The Year: People's Choice Award in 2020, and won the Queensland Tourism Award: Young Achiever's Award in 2019.

Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy

The Mirrorball Trophy now adds to a list that began in 2009, when Irwin won the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards for Biggest Greenie. He has also had four seasons of Crikey! It's the Irwins and co-created and illustrated Robert Irwin: Dinosaur Hunter.

The practical effect is simple: the Dancing with the Stars win places Irwin in a higher-profile television lane without removing the conservation work that defines his public image. How he balances the Australia Zoo schedule, television appearances, and the next round of wildlife projects will shape how much he can keep both parts of that profile active.
