Nicolas Raskin wants out of Rangers this summer. Atalanta have already contacted his representatives about a move, and Rangers are braced for offers rather than a quiet window. The midfielder is 25 and is now in America with Belgium at the 2026 World Cup.
Atalanta open contact
Atalanta made their move over the past month and are exploring a deal for Raskin as they look to strengthen their midfield under Maurizio Sarri. The interest is not fresh scouting noise. It has moved into direct contact with the player’s camp, which puts Rangers on alert before the market properly opens.
Raskin has 14 caps for Belgium and impressed in a 1-1 draw against Egypt in a recent substitute appearance. For clubs tracking him, that international form adds to the appeal of a player who has kept his place in a high-profile squad while his club future turns into a summer issue. For Rangers, it is another sign that the window may be shaped by exit talks rather than new arrivals.
Rangers set the price
Rangers value him at around £20 million and have him under contract until 2028. That leaves the club with leverage, but it also leaves a clear contradiction in the middle of the story: he wants to leave, while Rangers still control the deal on paper. The gap between those two positions will set the tone for every offer that follows.
There is also a wider market around him. Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Leeds United, Aston Villa and Brighton have all scouted him over the last 18 months, while Porto, Real Betis and Besiktas have also watched him and made previous enquiries. That history means Atalanta are entering a race that has been building for some time, not starting from zero.
Summer offers expected
Rangers have yet to field any solid enquiries, so the next step is straightforward: interest has to become a bid before anything changes hands. The club signed him from Standard Liège in January 2023 for £1.5 million, and he has gone on to make 145 appearances since then. A sale this summer would turn a low-cost signing into one of the club’s biggest decisions of the window, with Derek McInnes likely to have a say in how any money is used.
Lewis Ferguson: Nicolas Raskin wants Rangers exit with Atalanta interest sits inside that same picture. If Atalanta push ahead, Rangers will need to decide whether to hold for their valuation or move once a formal offer lands. Right now, the player wants the exit, the buying club is talking, and the only thing missing is the bid itself.
