Bradford City have signed goalkeeper Jon McCracken on a three-year deal, with the 26-year-old set to join as a free agent on 1 July. The move ends his spell with Dundee after he turned down a new contract there.
McCracken Joins Bradford City
McCracken arrives with a clear record of senior minutes behind him. He made 39 appearances in all competitions for Dundee last season and has 62 appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Dundee.
That gives Bradford City a goalkeeper who has already handled a full league workload and a broader run of competitive games. The contract length also locks the club into the move for three years rather than treating him as a short-term option.
Alexander on the signing
Graham Alexander said, "Jon has all the attributes a top goalkeeper needs and we are delighted he has joined us,". His view points to a signing built on readiness rather than development, with Bradford City adding a player who has already been tested over a long stretch of matches.
McCracken came through Norwich City's youth academy before his time with Dundee, and his decision to turn down a new contract there left Bradford City to move quickly once the free transfer path opened. For Bradford City, the practical result is simple: they have secured an experienced goalkeeper on a deal that starts when he officially joins on 1 July.
